How it all works

Volunteers

All our storytellers are volunteers who give their time freely - and there are no limits on age, gender or size!

Each storyteller devotes about one hour per week during termtime. They are in teams formed from local churches, which present stories every week, using The Lion Storyteller Bible and the OPEN THE BOOK Handbooks - the essential companions to the work. Please note also that all volunteers have to be CRB registered, and agree to abide by the OPEN THE BOOK Code of Practice.

If you would like to become a volunteer, you will need to do this through your local church - but you will also need to register with OPEN THE BOOK, which you can do by requesting a Registration Form from us. This will also allow you access to the Props and Costumes resources section of this site.
